The Treasured Memories 2009 Design Team met tonight (Wednesday). It was their last meeting of 2009. It was a really get together. Patti made gumbo that was out of the world! They drank champagne to celebrate the end of the year. They turned in their new layout designs. The layouts they created are amazing…as always.
Before I post the layouts from this month, I never did post the layouts from last month. They have been posted on their blogs, but the layouts are so awesome I had to brag on them just a little bit more!
First of all, they were given challenges. These challenges are new products that we get in that people aren’t sure how to use. It is their job to use them in their layouts in different ways.
Last month they were give iron ons from Donna Downey (Prima):
These work alot like rub-ons, but you apply them with your mini iron. What’s really cool about these is that they are more vibrant than rub-ons and also have a dimension to them.
Book covers from 7gypsies:
These are used to create mini books, but we used them on scrapbook pages!
Each student was also given a 12 x 12 piece of canvas.
Liz Created this awesome layout using a mixture of prima products and papers! She used the book cover to actually make a book that opens up to reveal pictures and journaling. Notice how she used the prima pebble to use as a knob on her book. Twine actually closes the book around the prima pebble.
Lisa created this really awesome Halloween layout. She used the book cover, but covered it with paper. One the side of her book cover she put 3 different color jute ribbons to match her layout. On top of the book cover she put the tree iron on. I loved her fence with the cool spider webs!
Where do I begin????? This layout is just amazing! She used mixture of Basic Grey paper and Pink Paisley paper to create this layout. The details and items put on the layout are a work of art! The book cover is hidden beneath the trees on the left. The Prima Iron ons are covered with beads and Stickles.
Brandy used the book cover on her layout on the left of her picture. She topped it off with the vibrant flower iron on. She also applied the cool ribbon on the bottom of her layout by pleating it and adding x’s by hand stitching! She backed her picture with the canvas and frayed it to match the spookiness of her layout.
Patti created this layout by covering her book cover with the canvas and ironing on the orange tree. She also used more iron ons in the middle of her layout, mixing it with flowers and other prima embellishments. The colors are just fabulous!!!
Paula just cracks me up. What can’t she do? She used the book cover in her cluster on the left covering it with part of her title and flowers. You can’t really see it, but the jute ribbon was used as the leaves for one of her flowers. Her iron on is on the right side of the layout….covered with distressing powders, because it wasn’t the right color. The design team takes challenges and makes it work…even if they have to change the color!!! Amazing!
Ok, look how cool….Aphra used the rub-on and put the word Boo in it! How Clever! The Jute ribbon was used as ties within eyelets….Are eyelets coming back???? I think so… Notice the eye on the mummy is made with the canvas cut into strips and look at the mummy’s eye!!!!!….it’s the Prima Pebble! Soooo Cute!!!
